Stewardship....Practicing Stewardship is not Optional

earth\

“Whoever is faithful in small matters will be faithful in large ones.”  (Luke 16:10)

The universal values of peace, liberty, justice and solidarity will prevail when all take to heart their call to steward God’s resources with care. Earth, air and water are some of the precious basic resources that we must share, conserve and protect.

Every person has the obligation to discern concrete ways God intends us to use our talents and resources.  To make a commitment to worship God through faithful giving and carefully stewarding our gifts and our very lives to the limit of our strength and abilities will reap untold spiritual benefits for us and for all those with whom we come in contact.

HOW DOES YOUR GARDEN GROW ? ? ?

OUR SPIRITUAL GARDEN:

What care do we give our relationship with God in worship, personal prayer and our unique calling to discipleship?

OUR PHYSICAL GARDEN:

OUR SOCIAL GARDEN:

How well do we manage our health? By proper exercise and nutrition, by watching our weight and allowing time for rest and relaxation?

OUR ECOLOGICAL GARDEN:

How well do we attend to the needs of the earth
with proper care and use of our
water soil, air and other resources?
Do we recycle?
Do we support efforts to improve the natural environment?

Do we care sufficiently for those around us in our immediate families and in our circle of friends? Do we exercise concern and involvement in the issues of our society as a whole? Do we treat others with respect

PSYCHOLOGICAL GARDEN:

Do we respect our own emotional life?
Are we seeking help with problems, illness and addictions?

OUR POLITICAL GARDEN:

Are we informed citizens and do we assume our responsibility for the common good?
What do we own, and what owns us?
Do we give back to God from our abundance or from what is left over?

We are not owners but
trustees of all that we
possess and enjoy in this life.

OUR TECHNOLOGICAL GARDEN:

How well do we use the great gifts of technology, computers and the mass media to make the world a healthier, safer place?

How will we use these gifts
of the Creator to His greater glory?
(adapted from text by Bishop Robert Morneau)

OUR CULTURAL GARDEN:

Do we support the arts and those who bring beauty and music into our lives?

Do we read great books?
